A Different World - Bucky Covington

Tony directed me over to Youtube to this really great song. Once I heard it I just HAD to share it. The funniest part about this is that we were just telling theBman about this sort of stuff the other night. We were trying to explain how different things were for us when we were kids.. and then Tony heard this song in the car. Timing, huh? *grins* Thanks baby!

I am posting the lyrics here.. and the video at the bottom.

A Different World - Bucky Covington

We were born to mothers who smoked and drank
Our cribs were covered in lead based paint
No child proof lids no seat belts in cars
Rode bikes with no helmets and still here we are, still here we are

We got daddy’s belt when we misbehaved
Had three TV channels you got up to change
No video games and no satellite
All we had were friends and they were outside, playin’ outside

Chorus
It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
Not just a different time
It was a different world

School always started the same every day
The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray
Not every kid made the team when they tried
We got disappointed and that was all right, we turned out all right

Chorus

Bridge
No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose
And every Sunday, all the stores were closed

Chorus

Chorus

It was a different world

Hope you are all having a great weekend! Love y'as!

Great lyrics, Great song, Excellent post. "All we had were friends and they were outside, playin’ outside"....I miss seeing the itard generation play anything in the streets. I don't even see kids playing wiffle ball anymore...sad but true. Have a great weekend yourself !!!

My only problem with this one is that Little Ol Bucky was not even born when many of the things he makes points in his song were going on! Sort of wrong as I see it......I totally get them all at 46....he can't be 26!
